1/72 Airfix P-51D factory bagged as a Me 109G

$25.00

Description

Both the 1/72 Airfix  P-51D and Me 109G were each newly tooled in 1959 and both were offered as bagged kits with a header card. This bag has a 1/72 P-51 model with a 109G header, clearly a mistake at the factory level. I have viewed other period Airfix kits in this style of package and find the three staples are in a random height from the top of the card but generally in the same placement side to side. I do not see evidence of the bag being opened and then reclosed. The decals are likely useless but are for Major Evan McCall’s P-51D 44-13309 ‘Fools Paradise IV’ of 363rd FG 380th FS. This link shows the actual Mustang in service.

The header is in good condition and I believe this a nice addition to any collection of early Airfix kits.
