My first model at age 9 or 10 was a huge success, in my young eyes, and it started a journey into a love of machines, history and of course models. I must admit many purchases were due to the impact of the box art and not the actual subject. Aircraft have always been a favorite and I had thoughts of becoming a pilot until I ran out of money during my flying lessons. Like many others I got sidetracked by job, family, cars and just life in general but I always kept an interest in the hobby. One of the sides to the hobby was the purchase of collections or other peoples kits. In general it was to cherry pick and sell the rest. As I enter into retirement after 40 years in the HVAC industry I find I am sitting on a good amount of items that far exceed my building time, storage and life span.
